I Will Not Stay Silent Webinar Series

The first program under “I Will Not Stay Silent” was kickstarted on International Women’s day, 8 March 2021 with the first webinar of a 12 part series addressing discrimination, sexual harassment, gender balance in the news industry, and other issues offered by expert trainers from WAN-IFRA’s Women in News program. The webinars, offered weekly on Mondays, are open to the public and broadcast live on our Facebook page.

The first activity conducted in 2021 was the webinars series. 13 webinars have been delivered successfully according to the plan, yet the participation and engagement exceeded expectations. The last webinar, Webinar 13 Exceptional session was added in response to a need identified by participants to share their experiences publicly and share the challenges they went through working as journalists in the Arab World.

The registration for the webinars was a total of 1,371 and the overall satisfaction rate 87% Satisfaction survey results"

Through Facebook alone, the webinar series reached 1.3 million as of mid-August, and the engagement with the live streaming was about 2k.

The overall participation via Zoom is about 2171 with more than 700 unique participants.

The majority were females but the male participants were also significantly high with over 30%.
